Client-centered
philosophy
During our work together, I will pull from an eclectic blend of psychological theories to help you become your best self.
These include Carl Rogers' Humanistic approach, which states that you, not any therapist or doctor, are the expert on yourself. I am merely here to guide you and remind you when necessary that you're strong, resilient and capable.
Another treatment style that I find useful with many clients is Solution-Focused Brief therapy, operating under the assumption that it is more beneficial (at least initially) to focus on current problems rather than digging up root causes from an age before we can even remember.
Finally, I often utilize Narrative therapy, which emphasizes the problem as external, in other words, "the anxiety is not you, the anxiety is a heavy backpack you're wearing."
